SAC CLUB ROLES (updated following 2024 AGM)
This document gives Club Members an insight into what is involved with each of the official SAC Club Roles. It is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities (a more detailed list is available).
President (Martin Hesketh)
- Chair AGMs and EGMs
- Be unbiased and impartial, give clear direction and set an example
- Represent and actively promote the Club in a positive manner
Chair (Andy Pumfman and Lawrence Naested)
- Chair Committee Meetings
- Notify of appointments, resignations and proposed changes Constitution
- Report on the activities of the Club at the AGM
Secretary (Juliet Starbuck)
- Schedule, agree agenda and minute Committee meetings, AGMs, EGMs
- Deal with correspondence to the club
- Handle administrative matters (e.g. memberships, insurance and legal matters)
Treasurer (Matt Honey)
- Ensure that bills are paid and cash is banked and proper records are kept
- Maintain proper insurance cover
- Present timely financial accounts to the Committee and independently reviewed annual financial accounts at the AGM
Premises Officer (Malcolm Geal)
- Ensure upkeep of SAC Clubhouse (repairs, utilities, heating, alarms, cleaning)
- Hire of premises
- Conduct regular inspections of the club premises
Membership Officer (Sue Ford-Dunn)
- Maintain a database of Club Members that is available to relative club Officials
- Respond to enquiries regarding Membership and welcome new Members
- Administration of new memberships, renewals, registrations and qualifications
Communications Officer + Kit Liaison (Andy Pumfman)
- Internal Comms: make available platforms on which to share announcements
- External Comms: oversee Website, public Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
- Press: Write and supply press releases, deal with publications / press
- Link in with Kit Officer(s) to bring updates to Committee
Welfare Officer (Sue Weekes)
- Implementation of good practice and child and vulnerable adult protection policies
- Oversee DBS checks and Safeguarding courses are undertaken
- Available to manage issues arising concerning safeguarding and/or bullying
Activity Captains (Lawrence Naested, Alan Redman, Emma Russ, Moyra Amess, Martin Hesketh, Ian Richards, Roger Flyn)
- Represent the views of the athletes within the club
- Agree objectives for activity, and strategy, with Coaches and Committee
- Report progress to SAC Committee and AGM
Committee Members without Office (Wayne Gosden, Nikki Pettit, Claire Ridley)
- Be a link between the Committee and the broader membership
- Help Committee Members with their responsibilities, should they require assistance
- An introduction for those considering a Committee Officer role in the future
Kit Officer (Jon Barker)
- Source suppliers for Club kit
- Make membership aware of how to purchase Club kit
- Liaise with members to gauge kit needs
Activity Coaches & Leaders
Activity Coaches
- Design, plan and deliver effective coaching programmes to support objectives
- Responsible for coaching standards and content – safety being paramount
- Respond to coaching enquiries from potential / new / existing members
Run Leaders
- Support Coaches as required
